Though all we’ve gotten so far is a single teaser, the Dead Boy Detectives are somehow almost here. Netflix announced today that the comics adaptation will premiere April 25th—barely more than a month from now.

The series was originally set to be a Max release, but moved to Netflix last year—which makes a certain kind of sense, as it is, technically, set in the universe of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. Its behind-the-scenes team has a whole pile of experience with comics and adaptations, and includes showrunner/developer Steve Yockey (The Flight Attendant), showrunner Beth Schwartz (Sweet Tooth), executive producer Jeremy Carver (Doom Patrol), and Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions (all those Arrowverse shows).

Here’s the synopsis:

Do you have a pesky ghost haunting you? Has a demon stolen your core memories? You may want to ring the Dead Boy Detectives. Meet Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowland (Jayden Revri), “the brains” and “the brawn” behind the Dead Boy Detectives agency. Teenagers born decades apart who find each other only in death, Edwin and Charles are best friends and ghosts… who solve mysteries. They will do anything to stick together—including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and her friend Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), they are able to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.

The series is based on characters created by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner. One hopes we might see a full trailer before that April 25th premiere. icon-paragraph-end
